The Design Story
gaaon ki chamakGAAON KI CHAMAKThe term ‘Gaaon Ki Chamak’ translates to ‘Shine of Village’ when translated into English. Meena talks about her imagination and how it went behind during the making of this carpet her village ‘Khora’ is situated in the state of Rajasthan and has become the inspiration behind it as she loves to share her love and affection with the village that she lives in. The design connects with colorful flowers one by one that depicts the level of saturation that she feels in her village that is associated with traditional ‘Bandarmaala’ a collection of decorative patterns that is being used for decoration during any festive in the village. The lower half of the carpet refers to women that reside in a village that carry water in vessels that have been woven into this carpet that depicts rural life.
