The Design Story
delhi ki sairDelhi Ki SairThis Manchaha rug beautifully blends two important parts of Vimla's life. Inspired by her recent visit to a family wedding in Delhi, she weaved colourful flowers and a Kalash (ceremonial pot) at the bottom of the carpet using her hand-knotting technique. Then, her love for her homeland shines on the left with the Indian flag and Lotus, our national flower. Memories from the wedding led her to add a long holder for Diyas (oil lamps), a part of the marriage ceremony. Vimla's creation reflects her commitment to family and nation. Every thread links her roles as a wife, mother, daughter, and responsible citizen. The vibrant colors and hand-crafted patterns mirror her vibrant personality. She balances her roles with a bright smile, embodying dedication and love. This Manchaha is a unique tapestry capturing the beautiful complexities of her life.
