The Design Story
mantanaMantanaLaccha's inaugural Manchaha was a great milestone in her 25-year weaving journey. As she sat at the loom, tying her first knots, a flashback of memories started playing in front of her eyes. She thought of weaving her old design patterns but soon realized that those designs weren't hers. While introspecting, Laccha turned her gaze towards herself, looking at her own skin, her cherished saree, her home, her family, and her beloved village. In that moment she decided to weave what was hers. She weaved the staircase of her home, flowers from her field, and the Ludo board game that her family plays, which she skilfully framed on her Manchaha keeping them safe. She affectionately named her creation "Mantana" signifying that it emerged from her heart.
