The Design Story
antar ki seirAntar Ki SeirA trio of young weavers created this carpet, marking their very first Manchaha experience on the loom. This carpet reflects their inner joy and emotions. It began with an unknown, unseen world of thoughts and dreams. For the first time, while sitting at the loom, they allowed themselves to think about their desires and aspirations. They wanted to weave everything they loved into the rug. Komal created her favorite foods, Sangeeta wove mountains, and Roli crafted her home. They brought life to trees, swings from village fairs, and colorful kites. It felt as though they had poured their entire world, the one they had seen and experienced into the rug. At first, they kept bringing new images to mind and weaving them into the design. But over time, their minds grew tired, and the flow of ideas slowed down. That’s when a shift occurred. They learned to quiet their thoughts and look within. From that stillness emerged designs born from their souls. The patterns became sometimes straight, sometimes twisted, reflecting their inner feelings. They beautifully named their rug, “Antar Ki Seir” (A Journey Within). It is this journey from the mind to the heart that makes their Manchaha truly special.
