The Design Story
qayamatQayamat: As Hanuman wove this Manchaha rug, he became lost in his own thoughts. He began worrying about his family and his life in jail, and started imagining the day of his release and reunion with his loved ones. As he weaved, he contemplated the final day of judgment of his life, when he would be rewarded and punished for his actions by God. This realization dawned upon him that what he had done in the past was beyond his control, but what he could do now was in his hands. Filling in the vibrant wool and silk yarns of orange and red color, he set out to weave the most beautiful designs. His energy surged as he worked, and his thoughts flowed like the waves he created. His thoughts guided his creativity, resulting in a stunning hand-knotted wool and silk rug that he named "Qayamat," meaning the final day of judgment
