The Design Story
reteeli hawaReteeli HawaIn the heart of Rajasthan, where the vast desert stretches as far as the eye can see, Aneesh, from the heart of Rajasthan, found solace in his craft while working at Ajmer jail. His creation, "Reteeli Hawa," captures the essence of the sandy dunes and the untamed beauty of the deserted land. Aneesh, having spent his life in the midst of the desert, found inspiration in its unpredictable nature. The gentle rustle of the wind, or "Reteeli Hawa" as he fondly called it, carried tales of resilience and adventures. Aneesh related the warm tones of the desert with the sand-colored wool and silk yarns. As he worked diligently on his Manchaha carpet, he recalled the play of sunlight on the golden grains of sand during sunrise and sunset. Aneesh's hands moved with purpose, weaving not just a hand-knotted carpet but a narrative of his connection to the land.
