The Design Story
picnicPicnicKajal and Ramaerti have created a stunning Manchaha rug that portrays the theme of a picnic. The rug features a border of a saree, a diamond-square structure, leheriya, and a cartoon called Phoolon ki Doli, which showcases innocence, creativity, joy, and love for each other and their surroundings. The highlight of the rug is the picnic basket, which was woven by the young weaver, Kajal. She was inspired by a scene of going to the mountains for a picnic, which she beautifully captured in her hand-knotted carpet using vibrant color yarns. Kajal wants to take all her friends and family on a picnic, which is why she named the rug "Picnic".
