The Design Story
sukh-dukh ka sangamSukh-Dukh Ka SangamMadhuri and Anil, a husband-and-wife duo from the company’s Head Office, created a Manchaha rug that beautifully captures the essence of their shared journey. Tasked with designing innovative samples for the company, their lives are usually abuzz with creative experiments. Yet, amidst their demanding schedules, they found time to weave their own story—slowly, patiently, knot by knot. Taking an entire year to complete, their rug, aptly named “Sukh Dhukh Ka Sangam” (A Confluence of Joy and Sorrow), became a reflection of their emotions. “Boond boond se ghada bharta hai” (drop by drop, the pot fills), they said, describing how they poured fragments of their lives into this masterpiece during moments stolen from their hectic routines. The rug is a mosaic of contrasts—vibrant colors symbolizing joy interwoven with subdued shades reflecting moments of struggle. Each motif tells a story: a blooming flower for their moments of happiness, a winding path for their challenges, and geometric patterns representing balance and togetherness.
