The Design Story
jahaazJahaazHanuman’s Manchaha, “Jahaaz” , meaning “ship” in Hindi, captures his longing to explore the world. Woven during his time in jail, the rug became his creative escape. At the top, a fleet of bright pink aeroplanes soars across the blue sky, symbolizing his dream of sitting in an airplane for the first time. Below, geometric forms evoke the shape of a ship gliding through open waters. For Hanuman, this rug is like a map of journeys he has yet to take. Each knot carries the hope of seeing the world beyond the prison walls, whether by sailing across the seas or flying high among the clouds.
