The Design Story
leherati boondiLeherati BoondiIn rural areas, women are often fond of wearing traditional Leheriya clothes. However, Manisha has a special love for the dotted patterns of Bandhej. She was inspired to create her own Manchaha carpet during the winter season when the grass was covered in dew, and children enjoyed their holiday break while bundled up in thick sweaters and blankets, playing with toys and dolls. As the sun set, the sky turned pink and purple, bringing a sense of calmness and joy. Manisha followed her heart and created a collage of her visuals, hand-knotting them with love, which evolved into her unique "Leherati Boondi" carpet, meaning flowing dots of Bandhej. Her manchaha became an expression of her emotions.
