The Design Story
indradhanush ki duniyaIndradhanush Ki DuniyaNarangi and Urmila love nature. The sights of birds singing, gentle breeze, insects, butterflies, fruits, and crops bring them joy. These natural wonders inspire the artisans who sit on the loom to handcraft their rugs. While their manchaha rug was being woven, an unexpected afternoon rain shower occurred, creating a magical experience of a rainbow in the presence of the bright, shining sun. The sight of the rainbow left a lasting impression on Narangi's mind, and as she continued weaving the rug, she kept thinking about it. Soon, she realized that the rainbow stripes resembled the leheria pattern they were wearing. She shared this perspective with Urmila, who agreed with her. Up until that point, they had woven the nature around them into the rug, but after the realization, they started incorporating the rainbow into their design in their own unique style. Together, they created a beautiful hand-knotted rug that showcased the natural wonders that inspired them, naming their rug as "Indradhanush Ki Duniya" (A World of Rainbows).
