The Design Story
chamakta hua taaraChamakta Hua TaaraFive weavers collaborated to create one masterpiece. They started with the idea of weaving a maze but dropped it as it wasn't turning out as they wanted. Instead, they started weaving small patterns, resembling a sky full of stars, using small dots called "tikki". They each created their own starry night, mixing only the patterns of stars. At first, they followed the same pattern but as the carpet came to an end, they all found their own sky. Writing their names proved to be a challenge, and only Tara and Soni succeeded in signing their rug. However, this rug is a collective effort of all five weavers, who are stars themselves, portraying their own identity into their designs. They named their rug "Chamakta Hua Taara", saying it would shine wherever it goes.
