The Design Story
behno ka pyaarBehno Ka Pyaar"Behno Ka Pyar"—which means the love of sisters, is a tender story woven by three sisters: Savita, Sarita, and Sarla, with every knot carrying the quiet strength of their bond. Made with love, laughter, and a shared dream, this rug is a celebration of sisterhood in its purest form. The sisters drew inspiration from the world around them and their shared memories. The flowing Leheriya wavy patterns come from the traditional sarees worn in their home, while delicate motifs from kapda chapai (textile printing). But the most heartwarming touch came from the youngest sister, Shivani. She would rush home from school with sparkling eyes and new ideas. She would chatter away as the elder sisters wove, her joy infectious. One day, she showed them a picture of a Christmas tree from her schoolbook, something that fascinated her deeply. To make her happy, the sisters lovingly included the motif in their rug, bringing in a little Christmas magic just for her. The colors—soft greys, warm whites, and gentle medium tones give a quiet glow, reminiscent of the light that gently falls on a Christmas night. They also crafted a jaali (net-like) pattern, symbolizing pathways lit up with festive lights. As one of the sisters said, “We’re friends as much as we are sisters.” And this rug, with its thoughtful details and shared joy, beautifully captures that unbreakable connection.
