The Design Story
jhoomarJhoomarLight is the reason why we see colors. It is why we create art. A source of light at a home is what makes a home feel like a home. We often need to remember to appreciate that source. “Jhoomar” (Chandelier) is one of the many ways we decorate lights in our homes. A Chandelier is an art in itself. For Suman, this Chandelier became her muse while weaving a Manchaha rug. Now known as “Jhoomar,” this hand-knotted rug is a chandelier design. This design takes up the most significant space in the carpet. Apart from that, there are designs of mountains,‘ Shakkarpara’ designs, “Lehereiya” (wavy pattern) designs from a bedsheet, and a design of “Rudraksha” from a Hanuman temple. Suman tried to keep it simple. Simplicity goes with art, always.
