The Design Story
aatishbaazi,Aatishbaazi,This vibrant Manchaha rug was born during the Diwali festival, infused with the festive spirit that fills the air. Santosh incorporated her loom into the celebrations, weaving a tapestry of joy and tradition. Starting at the bottom, the rug features torans—decorative hangings adorning doorways to welcome Goddess Lakshmi, the deity of wealth. As the design ascends, vibrant patterns inspired by the colorful clothes bought for Diwali emerge. The rug's layout reflects the essence of the festival: scattered, lively motifs at the bottom represent the bustling energy of pre-Diwali cleaning—a tradition symbolizing more than tidying homes; it signifies releasing negativity and inviting renewal. Moving upwards, the patterns grow calm, culminating in a breathtaking depiction of a firework-filled sky. Santosh named her creation “Aatishbaazi,” meaning "Fireworks,” capturing the joyous explosion of light, color, and festivity that defines Diwali’s spirit
