The Design Story
kashmir ki vaadiyaanKashmir Ki VaadiyaanIn the shimmering valleys and breathtaking views of the mountain ranges of Kashmir, two artists found their muse. Kashmir is known as the "Heaven on Earth," its beauty justifies this statement. The mother and daughter duo weaves their Manchaha of Kashmir and calls it "Kashmir ki Vaadiyaan," which means "Kashmir's valleys". Manbhar and Anjali brought mountains, rivers, and paths, creating a valley of beauty into their hand-knotted rug. They weaved little flowers and patterns to fill the spaces, saying it's nature that crafts beauty, even in the smallest flower growing on the grass. They learned from nature and portrayed whatever they could capture in their eyes from the magnificent beauty on earth. "They also shared how roses grow effortlessly in big bunches in the climate of Kashmir. People decorate their entrance gates with rose planters to welcome visitors with the sweet smell of flowers. It inspired them to weave the sweet-smelling rose planters into their rugs too!"They did not forget to weave classic motifs of "Lehereiya" (wavy designs) and "Shakkarpara" (Indian sweet) designs. Picking up light-colored yarns in the hot summers, they weaved a carpet of a chilling valley of Kashmir.
