The Design Story
tajTajThe name ‘Taj’ pays homage to the Taj Mahal, which served as Savitri’s design inspiration for this Manchaha. Together with her younger sister, she crafted this rug, working in harmony yet individually to interpret the patterns in their own distinctive styles. They experimented with geometric and floral patterns, reminiscent of those found on the Taj, while incorporating a vibrant palette to breathe life into the design. This rug evokes the sensation of a racing video game set in historical India, beautifully reflecting Savitri’s sentiment: “This rug came together as my sister and I envisioned our children playing together, and it will be a wonderful space for kids to enjoy.”
