The Design Story
yaadon ke rangYaadon ke RangRavi Yogi didn’t start this rug with a fixed design in mind. He began the way he always does - by sitting down at the loom early in the morning, when the world is still quiet. At the bottom of the rug, he began with squares — small, steady ones. They reminded him of the tiled floor at home, where his children sit and play with marbles. Then came the zigzags — bold and quick. They were inspired by the monsoon winds that move through the fields near his village. He remembered standing in those fields, watching the grass bend and the clouds roll in. As he moved upward, he changed the rhythm. More squares, more colours — this time remembering the saris drying on rooftops. And then, in the middle, he wove a large diamond. For him, it was a kind of doorway into the memory of home. To someone looking from the outside, it might just be a beautiful rug. But to Ravi, it is a woven story of home, of nature, of love, and of all the moments in between. With this, he named the rug “Yaadon ke Rang,” meaning “Colours of Memories.”
