Durga and Sonu were inspired by this dynamic time of year and embarked on a weaving journey to capture the energy and movement of the monsoon in their Manchaha rug. Their chosen theme, "Jhoomti Leherein" (Dancing Waves), reflects the powerful and unpredictable nature of ocean waves. While the weavers traditionally enjoy creating decorative leheriya, or wavy patterns into their hand-knotted rugs, Durga and Sonu aimed to capture waves that exude strength and intensity, much like the turbulent ocean waves that surge with hidden power. The waves, woven with intricate patterns, convey both the beauty and the raw force of nature, making each ripple and curl look as if it’s poised to leap out of the carpet.
