The Design Story
van jeewanVan JeewanAt first glance, Van Jeevan (Forest Life) may seem like a sea of green. But when you look closer, a hidden world begins to reveal itself. Woven by the skilled hands of Ashok and Raju, this Manchaha is a quiet tribute to the mysteries of the forest. When they received yarns dyed in tone-on-tone shades of green, their minds wandered into the wilderness. “Everything in a forest is green,” they thought, “yet no two leaves are ever the same.” With that thought, they set out to weave a world where harmony lives in diversity. They didn’t stop at trees. Their forest teems with quiet marvels: the earth textured with ants, ponds with fish, birds resting in shadows, and wildflowers blooming in bursts of unexpected color—nature’s way of inviting bees and butterflies. At the bottom-left of the rug hides the most intriguing secret: camouflage birds, so masterfully hidden they almost disappear into the design. Much like their real counterparts in the wild, the animals blend in—to hunt, to hide, to live. Ashok and Raju reimagined their forest, entered it, and brought it back by threads. Their creation is like a quiet, breath of life from the wild.
