The Design Story
sagar ki pukarSagar ki PukarIn a small village near the desert, a husband and wife worked together to create a stunning hand-knotted rug named “Sagar Ki Pukar,” which means “Call of the Sea.” What made this rug special was its beautiful were the artisans’ favorite leheriya patterns—traditional wavy designs that symbolize rain. The wavy patterns on the rug represented the much-anticipated monsoon rains, bringing a sense of hope and joy. The husband and wife poured their love into every detail of the rug, calling for rain to fill the water bodies present in their village. As a result, their rug was treasured by many, capturing the magic of the rain and their shared craftsmanship.
