The Design Story
mitti aur makaanMitti Aur MakaanTo truly see this carpet, one must step into its depths, because it is born from the soil of Rajasthan. In the small village of Kishanpura, three weavers spent eight hours a day for two months bringing this rug into being. Its colors are quiet, drawn from the earth itself, holding within them the depth of the people, their gestures, and their way of life. At the centre lies a large diamond, their home, where the loom stands and days unfold. Around it stretch fields and mud paths, walked daily, far from the rush of cities. Small human figures appear, showing a close-knit life where people live apart yet deeply connected. A well and many trees mark shared resources and a life lived close to nature. "Mitti Aur Makaan" (Soil and Home) is a map of their world, one that asks to be seen slowly, felt deeply, and understood beyond its surface.
