The Design Story
dhaago ke sangDhaago ke SangA unique team of weavers embraced the beauty of collaboration while weaving their Manchaha, "Dhaago ke Sang" (along the threads). They engaged in a lively discussion on what design they should first weave. Maali's idea of flooring tiles captured their imagination, and everyone agreed to weave it. As the loom embraced the threads, Santosh brought her beloved leheriya (wave-like patterns) to mix with a creative twist. Splitting into two pairs, they playfully directed their designs in opposite directions. Just like friends holding hands, they directed their hands together playing with their wool and silk threads. As more than half the carpet took shape, they sought to make their Manchaha even more interesting and let their minds free. Throughout their artistic journey, their unity as a team was evident that resulted into a one of a kind hand-knotted rug. Whether they worked as a group, in pairs, or individually, their hearts and minds remained together in stitches.
