The Design Story
hariyaaliHariyaaliAnupa’s rug, Hariyaali, which means "Greenery" is a reflection of her deep connection to the village she calls home. Surrounded by lush greenery, she has always been in awe of the effort farmers put into their agricultural land. The rug is divided into two parts: the first shows the beginning of a farmer's journey, where small seeds are planted with care, symbolizing hope and hard work. The second part captures the moment when those efforts blossom into flourishing fields, ready for cultivation. Anupa also wove elements that represent her love for nature—leaves of Poplar trees, which blanket the village. She added little trees and the Damru, representing her deep affection for the trees. Through the green color she chose, Anupa’s rug tells the story of small beginnings, where humans sow seeds with love and care, and in return, the universe gifts them with a bounty of lush trees and fields.
