The Design Story
kheton ka rajaKheton Ka RajaThe designs of the Manchaha, "Kheton ka Raja," were inspired by the memories and scenarios of the farm where Vineeta and her siblings grew up with their parents. The patterns on the carpet are reminiscent of the fabric patterns that were imprinted in their minds, which they beautifully captured on this hand-knotted wool and silk rug. The jaal (net) designs reflect the boundaries of the farms, the crop patterns, the motifs of the shed located in the middle of the farm, the structure of the plowing field, and the brick wall. Vineeta has been exposed to farming since childhood and believes that her parents and elder siblings' hard work has contributed to her success. Therefore, she considers a farmer to be no less than a king, and she has named this Manchaha "Kheton ka Raja" (King of Farms).
