The Design Story
anokhi tarkeebAnokhi TarkeebThis Manchaha is the creative genius of four young artists, bound by a deep friendship. Having recently completed their higher education, they all chose to pursue weaving, a craft that now unites them on the same loom, just as school once did in their childhood. The girls named their rug “Anokhi Tarkeeb, meaning, “Unique Technique”. Among them were two newcomers, Sheela and Pinky, who brought fresh energy and new ideas with them. Initially, the more experienced girls, Divya and Laxmi suggested to weave a uniform design but within a week, they all got bored of weaving! As confidence grew, they decided to split into two teams, Divya with Sheela on one side and Laxmi with Pinky on the other. That’s when the real fun began. As they dug into their yarn bag, a burst of colors appeared. Pinky, unable to resist, gleefully grabbed the light blue, her favorite and adorned her medallion with it and declared her medallion the best, teasing the other team. Suddenly, everyone started stacking their favorite colors, weaving like maniacs and finished all the bright shades at once! Amid laughter and playful banter, they all blamed Pinky for starting the “color war.” Now with a renewed sense of individuality and a challenge of weaving with just black and white, they found a new approach, each artist weaving a different interpretation of the same motif, the diamond. What emerged was a striking visual narrative, where a single concept unfolded in distinct expressions, each as unique as a fingerprint. "We are all unique, and so is our design!" they declared proudly, admiring their completed masterpiece. In that moment, they realized their true magic lay not just in the rug they had woven but in the realization of their own individuality.
