The Design Story
sapne aur hakeekatSapne Aur HakeekatBeerbal, Pradeep and Hanuman created a hand-knotted rug titled "Sapne Aur Hakeekat" (Dreams and Reality). This hand-knotted rug was made using two different types of wool and silk yarns; one was neutral and the other was multicolored. The trio decided to separate these yarns from the beginning and handcrafted an array of colors and patterns on the left and right side of the rug, which look perfect and lovely. However, in the middle, they wove a breaking pattern that is not uniform but filled with many elements that reflect life experiences. These moments may not seem perfect to the eyes but they are the moments that we live for. Dreams are only seen when we sleep, and they seem to fade away as we wake up. Reality is the real life, the real experience, which the weavers beautifully represented on their rug.
