The Design Story
jal tarangJal TarangWhen Yaadram received the calming blue yarns, it immediately transcended him to a river in his village that he used to visit regularly. He decided to weave this exact place in his Manchaha, “Jal Tarang,” which means “Water Wave.” He began by weaving the river itself, surrounded by stones and sand. He also included a stone platform where he would often sit during his visits. Additionally, Yaadram intricately wove frogs, cactus plants, and small sparrows into the hand-knotted rug. The most striking feature of this artwork is the depiction of the sun's reflection on the river water, skillfully woven at the top. Unable to visit his cherished place due to confinement, Yaadram successfully brought it on the carpet for the world to see.
