The Design Story
swagatSwagatChandrakanta was commissioned three Manchahas one after the other, a task she completed with full responsibility and perfection. The rug, titled ‘Swagat’ which means ‘welcome’, incorporates culturally rooted elements like the mala, rangoli, gulal etc. all of which indicate the act of welcoming a guest in Rajasthan. She has woven in the motifs in visually complementing colourations. The rug has imprints of her flair for perfection and her observation skills.
