The Design Story
puraani yaadePuraani YaadeBefore his time in prison, Vikas had learned plyboard printing and remembered some of those designs to incorporate into the rug. He named it "Puraani Yaade" (Old Memories), paying homage to his past. Among the designs, one motif he remembered was the 'Kalash'. Despite the challenge of weaving with tricky yarns, Vikas enjoyed working with the colors he had. He started by weaving flowers he had seen on television, drawing inspiration from the moments he could watch TV. Intrigued by the beauty of rose petals, he even attempted to weave them into his rug. Each time he weaves, Vikas sets out to challenge himself with new designs, finding inspiration everywhere around him. For Vikas, the artist within never stops seeking new muses, constantly evolving with each creation.
