The Design Story
parivartanParivartanKoyali, a seasoned weaver with over 25 years of experience, has spent decades weaving traditional carpets, carrying the intricate floral patterns in her memory. These designs, passed down through generations, have become an essential part of her identity and this Manchaha. But Koyali’s journey in weaving took a beautiful turn when she decided to honor these traditional motifs while also creating space for something new. She began by weaving the familiar, delicate floral patterns that had long been etched into her craft. But then, something shifted within her. Inspired by the idea that peace comes from breaking free, Koyali decided to break the patterns at every step. "If something breaks, it creates the space for something new to come together," she reflects, her words capturing the essence of her transformation. In "Parivartan" (transformation), Koyali embraced the fractured beauty of these broken patterns, showing that the act of breaking does not destroy, but instead fosters growth and connection. Her work, like her journey, becomes a story of evolution—a tribute to the past and a celebration of the freedom found in the creative process.
