The Design Story
ghar ki baatGhar Ki BaatWoven by mother-daughter duo Sampat and Annu, this rug is a quiet reflection of their shared life. Sampat, the mother, brings decades of weaving wisdom, while Annu adds her youthful eye and sense of detail. Together, they created a patchwork of memories. The house drawn at the center stands like a beating heart—its doors, windows, and even the rooftop lines sketched carefully, recalling the home they’ve built with love and labor. The rug captures snippets of village life. From field patterns to the floor beneath their charpai, from the damru toy Annu once played with to scenes of shared meals and quiet evenings under the sky. The most special detail - two tiny stick figures appear in the design: the mother inside the home, and Annu playing outside. Ghar Ki Baat (Stories of Home) is like a diary written in yarn, a dialogue of memory that a mother and daughter shared.
