The Design Story
san ki sawaariSAN ki SawaariThis Manchaha rug is an effortless display of Shakuntla, Archana and Naina's journey in a train. Shankuntala has weaved coaches in a train and, following her friend, Naina, weaving railway tracks to run her friend's train. When asked what did Archana Devi weave to be a part of their journey? She laughed and said, "Archana baith ke chali" (Archana sat in the train and enjoyed), portraying herself as sawaari (passenger), naming this Manchaha "SAN ki Sawari" (SAN - Shakuntala, Archana and Naina). This Manchcha reflects Shakuntala, Archana and Naina's journey of wholesomeness, love and compassion towards each other on this hand-knotted wool and silk rug intricately woven with love and fun!
