The Design Story
khet ki lakeereinKhet Ki LakeereinKhet Ki Lakeerein is a beautiful depiction of the transition of fields along with the change in the seasons depicted by our weavers, Kavita and Santosh in the most beautiful manner. They go into the fields during the harvesting season and notice how the soil texture changes with time. Crafting their cherished manchaha carpet during the bountiful harvest, they witness the land transitioning from abundance to bareness, only to rejuvenate itself for the next cycle of cultivation. They see the land drying up and forming cracks like lines on a palm of their hands. But when water nourishes it, these cracks are gently healed, showing nature's endless renewal. Their art beautifully reflects the journey of a farmer's field, echoing the ups and downs of hard work and destiny. At the heart of their creation stands a majestic peepal tree, a sacred emblem deeply rooted in the earth, symbolizing resilience and sustenance. Appropriately named as "Khet Ki Lakeerein" or "Lines of the Field," this hand-knotted rug embodies the timeless tale of nature's rhythm and the profound connection between humanity and the land.
