The Design Story
saralta mein sundartaSaralta mein SundartaWith years of experience in weaving, Amarchand is an expert at loom. Though he knew weaving even before he entered jail, he was new to Manchaha. Conditioned by design maps, Amarchand was pretty clueless when he began weaving Manchaha. He cracked the code of weaving the heart desired by simply keeping things simple. He emphasized the concept of “Less is more” and weaved just one design throughout the carpet. The carpet also has a unique design of curved lines. Along with that, Amarchand has played with colors giving it a unique pattern throughout the carpet. Amarchand explained how he aimed to keep it simple. And so he named his Manchaha “Saralta mein Sundarta” as in “Beauty in simplicity.”
