The Design Story
thehravThehravKoyali and Meenu, the mother–daughter duo, are from Rajasthan, a land where water is scarce, and vast water bodies are only imagined. Koyali, the mother, was forty-one when she saw a lake for the first time. And that moment stayed with her. In this rug, they have woven what water feels like to them. Using deep greens and blues, they create a scene that feels oceanic - expansive, calm, and slightly unreal. At the base, a small mound of earth appears, grounding the composition. Across the surface, ocean plants emerge in their own quiet forms, each woven with care and curiosity. The rug moves in a slow, organic, and magical rhythm. The patterns flow the way water does. Sitting in front of it, you begin to feel the stillness it holds, as if standing by a large body of water and letting your thoughts settle. They named this Manchaha “Thehrav”—Stillness. A rug that asks you to pause, just as the ocean does, and rest in its calm.
