The Design Story
sagar ka motiSagar ka MotiWhen the sun drowns at sea, the golden lines on the waves dance in joy. Sun rays on ripples are just a replica of pearls floating on the waves. Kallu saw this as his inspiration and weaved a blue carpet with ripples right at the center. When he received yarns of deep teal and Caribbean sea, he rejoiced. He saw the vision of a sea on a carpet. He started with simple dots but soon changed the patterns to create something unique. The pearls of beauty are honored by the name “Sagar ka Moti” (Pearls of the Ocean). Filled with “Lehereiya” (wavy design) and patterns of dunes and stretches of mountains, Kallu has captured the most candid essence of nature on his hand-knotted piece of art.
