The Design Story
samay ka khelSamay Ka KhelSamay Ka Khel or the game of time is a take on Lala Ram’s life journey. “More than the design, it is the color that narrates the story of my rug”, says Lala, the proud weaver of this rug. He started weaving this rug in playful tones of blue to depict water then he went on to weave greenery and mountains but something tragic happened and life became a puzzle. He ended up being in prison and weaved dry desert of Rajasthan to reflect the same through his rug. With a smile he says, “This too shall pass, I am just hoping to see the time when the blues and green will be back again in my life.”
