The Design Story
pehli pasandPehli PasandManju is our most ambitious weaver she wants all her rugs to be sold off first, and that’s why she named it ‘Pehli Pasand’. It means my first like, and it’s her unique marketing strategy. In this Manchaha she’s used deep colours and an intricate geometric design, but with a unique perspective. She glitched it right down the middle. She first saw a warped design on television, when there was static in the cable and ads for curtains and clothes were running. The static warped the design and although it was flawed, she looked at it with great interest trying to make sense of why she liked it. She brings that scene to life, and realized that the outcome is so beautiful, it will hold its place as her pehli pasand.
