The Design Story
shiddatShiddatDivya, Shiloo, and Geeta, true Bollywood fans, named this Manchaha “Shiddat,” meaning “Intensity.” They found inspiration in a famous movie dialogue: "If you truly desire something with all your heart, the entire universe helps you achieve it." This rug is their way of putting that belief into practice - pouring their energy, dreams, and determination into every thread. Divya laughed as she shared how Shiloo and Geeta grabbed all the bright-colored yarns, leaving her with only dull shades. But instead of complaining, she took it as a challenge, blending those simple colors into something beautiful. They wanted this hand-knotted rug to reflect their hard work, so they filled every inch with intricate patterns, refusing to leave any blank space. They wove different kinds of kites, all in the same diamond shape but with unique patterns, symbolizing their creativity and individuality. The artisans shared their belief that if they work hard enough, their art will open doors, bringing them and their families closer to the dreams they quietly hold in their hearts. To the artisans, this rug is a labor of love, a symbol of resilience, and a reminder that dreams, when pursued with intensity, have the power to take flight.
