The Design Story
razamandRazamandIn the beginning, Naurat wove with restraint. His hands moved cautiously on the loom, creating soft, hesitant patterns—gentle ripples in shades that barely shifted. When asked by a friend what he was creating, he said, "Waves of the ocean." But his friend disagreed. “These are not ocean waves,” he said. “They’re too safe, like you're standing far behind the shore.” That struck a chord. His friend had seen through him, not the design, but the fear beneath it. The fear of trying, of stepping beyond the known. Fueled by this challenge, Naurat did something brave. He laid out all his yarn, spread it around like the sea itself. And then, he imagined. His fingers responded, lines grew bolder, colors intertwined and crashed like currents. The entire rug transformed into a wave of courage, a story of daring to dive deep. Naurat named this Manchaha "Razamand"—a quiet tribute to his willingness to step out of comfort, and discovering the ocean within.
