The Design Story
jungle ka sherJungle ka SherSampati Devi’s Manchaha, “ Jungle Ka Sher” is the perfect blend of her artistry and imagination. When Sampati opened her bucket of yarn, she noticed that she had received black color yarn in a very small quantity. This left her thinking about how she could utilize this to make a complete pattern. After brainstorming for 2 days she decided to weave a small lion seeking inspiration from her local newspaper at the center of her Manchaha. After utilizing the black yarns, she started weaving patterns and designs that would be related to the lion and hand-crafted them beautifully on her rug. Seeking inspiration from the same she started weaving plants, trees, and the view of a forest where the lion resides. However, at the top of her manchaha, she kept an exclusive space to weave something close to her heart. Sampati loves a bouquet and seeking her inspiration from the same she has woven a big bouquet for herself. Sampati's Manchaha effortlessly conveys the importance of considering one's surroundings while also prioritizing self-care.
