The Design Story
do-duniyaDo-DuniyaDo-Duniya This creation is the reflection of the brainstorm that happened in the minds of Mamta and Mukesh. They just went on weaving the things that came into their heads one by one unwinding their creative minds through their loom. They first started weaving the old trees which they call “badh” (Banyan tree) from their village. During the weaving process, both went to visit Jaipur where they saw the Hawamahal. The beauty and its architecture got fitted into their eyes and as soon as they came back home, they weaved their own colourful Hawamahal. They also weaved a school building, saying they want to teach their children in that school. Mukesh has tried to connect his village and the city through a stream of lakes to connect both ends. In the end, they weaved the boundary wall of their own home bringing all the magic of the world to their loom, naming their Manchaha, “Do-Duniya” (Two Worlds) portraying the beauty of two worlds- the bustling cities and serene villages on their beautifully hand-knotted wool and silk rug.
