The Design Story
roshniRoshniSumitra loves city lights, so she decided to adorn them into her Manchaha rug. She describes how the tiny lights of homes sparkle when viewed from the top of a mountain. She has depicted this by hand-knotting each thread as a symbol of light on her manchaha with her wool and silk threads . She used the leheriya design to represent the lights and created intricate patterns for a clean and organized look. She named her creation "Roshni" (Light) and hopes that whoever buys her carpet will have a life filled with light, just like her carpet and playfully says, "Jo mera manchaha khareedega uske ghar mein light ki kami nahi hogi" (The one who will buy my carpet will not have a shortage of light in their house).
