Nanchi ka Sansar
Nanchi Devi is a strong woman who lives alone. She found solace in creating this magnificent manchaha carpet, which she named "Nanchi Ka Sansar," meaning "Nanchi's World". Her daily life inspired her creative artwork; from the scorpions in her courtyard to the sweet shakarparas she baked affectionately, all found their place in her hand-knotted rug. Her artwork included patterns from colorful sarees and dazzling bangles woven in wool and silk yarns. This carpet became a heartbreaking connection to her faraway family after she was separated from her husband in Dubai and her sons in Jaipur. Nanchi put her heart and soul into the fabric with each knot she tied, missing her loved ones. When her family reunited while the carpet was in the making, they marveled at its complex beauty, realizing that it represented the love and desire that had brought them together across the miles. Nanchi's heart was complete then, and her "Nanchi Ka Sansar" was no longer her lone link to her family but a tribute to their enduring bond.
