The Design Story
chote chote palChote Chote PalSunita's adventure began as she constructed her new home, nestled near a lively market. One day, while checking on her house's progress, she couldn't help but notice the colorful carts brimming with fresh veggies and fruits. Among them, the "Sem Ki Fali" or Runner Beans caught her attention. The intricate designs of the seeds inside the bean sparked a creative spark within her. Back at her loom, she transformed these beans into her designs using the hand-knotting technique. She found it amusing how a vegetable could ignite her imagination. As she wove, her father visited her. Her young son was fascinated by the magnificence of his nana's (grandfather's) mustache. In Rajasthan, men proudly sport large mustaches. Sunita's son playfully tugged at his nana's facial hair, evoking laughter. Sunita cherished this innocent scene and wove her father's mustache into her Manchaha, capturing the moment for eternity. She believes it's these simple, fleeting moments that fuel her creativity. Her strength lies in thinking simply, and she beautifully portrays this in her Manchaha, which brims with life's little joys. And so, she fittingly names her creation "Chote Chote Pal" (Little Moments) as a tribute to the beauty of simplicity.
