The Design Story

shubh labh

Shubh Labh
"Shubh Labh" means good luck, and that's exactly what our talented artists, Mahesh and Munshad, aim to spread through this creation. Initially, this carpet was started by Munshad, who wove the classic leheriya pattern. However, managing designs on a circular carpet was challenging for him, as it was his first-time weaving a round rug. Fear gripped him, but then Mahesh, an experienced weaver and a specialist in round rugs, came to the rescue. He taught Munshad how to approach designs on a round rug, showcasing his passion and expertise. Drawing inspiration from the traditional choukdi (diamond shape) motif—a symbol believed to dispel negative energy and invite good fortune into Indian homes—Mahesh began the rug with this auspicious design at its center. From there, Mahesh incorporated pyramids, symbolizing balance, and meticulously wove a constellation of stars. The entire carpet is filled with a valley of stars intricately woven into each knot. The carpet became more than just a piece of art; it embodied Mahesh's profound beliefs. Wherever this rug finds its home, it will carry the combined spirit and craftsmanship of Mahesh and Munshad, spreading good luck and positive energy to all who encounter it.
