The Design Story
humsafarHumsafarHumsafar is a special manchaha as it's the first manchaha that Rahul Singh and Bhoora weaved along with an experienced weaver, Durga Merwal.It's always inspiring to see people coming together to learn from each other and create something beautiful. Both of the new members were a little nervous at first but three of them coordinated so well and taught each other to make designs.We can see the designs in sets of 3 in the whole carpet.The Humsafar manchaha, with its unique floral motifs in geometric form, is a great example of the creativity and skill of the weavers who created it.The fact that the team members, including the experienced weaver, Durga Merwal, worked together and taught each other to make designs is a testament to the power of collaboration and learning from each other. Humsafar is a beautiful word that captures the idea of companionship and support during a journey. It's heartening to know that the artisans kept each other motivated during their journey of weaving their manchaha.
