The Design Story
jagmagta aasmanJagmagta AasmanOn warm summer nights, it is a cherished tradition for Seeta Devi and her family to sleep on the terrace, under the vast open sky. Her husband would often teach their kids about the constellations and the mythological stories behind them. One such night, as Seeta was sleeping under the sky full of stars, she felt a surge of inspiration for her Manchaha creation. With shades of blue, she began weaving the boundless sky, carefully incorporating intricate diamond-shaped patterns to represent the shimmering stars. She also wove the traditional wavy patterns thinking of blue waterfalls emerging from mountains. With every knot, she wove the memories of those peaceful nights, the laughter of her loved ones, and the dreams that soared. “Stars are the ornaments of the sky,” she said with a wide smile while seeing the final result of her hard work. With this idea, she named her Manchaha “Jagmagta Aasman,” meaning “Sparkling Sky.”
