The Design Story
numberdaarNumberdaarWahid shared that before coming to the open jail, Wahid was lodged in the central jail. And was made the Numberdaar (one who keeps track of numbers) of the jail because of his good behavior during his imprisonment. He would keep track of other inmates and their records. Wahid misses his position and his work which made him feel valued even in the jail. Wahid says that he has woven his Manchaha ‘Numberdaar’ in memory of the jail where he spent many years and knew people. He has woven floral designs in calming colors and patterns.
